TAG Heuer Alex Monopoly joins TAG Heuer family

— Street-art artist Alex Monopoly becomes TAG Heuer’s art provocateur.

To coincide with Miami Contemporary Art week, Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Watch Division, has announced the appointment of ultra-hot American artist Alec Monopoly as Art Provocateur for watch brand.
Sporting a hat, with his face always hidden behind a bandana to preserve his anonymity; but what is he famous for? Well, Alec Monopoly owes his fame to the character who shares his name. Mr. Monopoly, the diminutive and debonair banker that the artist depicts in different scenarios.
"When I started out, I did my graffiti in New York. The city was a huge source of inspiration". In 2008, he quit the Big Apple for California. This was the year that the financial markets crashed. The subprime crisis, Wall Street, Bernard Madoff... The finance world experienced its darkest days. And this found its echo in Alec's work. His career took off. "This was my way of making a statement about what was happening." His work started to gain an online following amongst street art aficionados. People started to call him Alec Monopoly.

Since then, he has depicted the little banker in every conceivable situation... His rich, colourful works using this character – known throughout the world – are filled with humour. In the meantime, Alec Monopoly has turned his focus towards recontextualising other icons of popular culture. Scrooge McDuck, Richie Rich...
With success, his relationship with painting has changed. "I was crazy when I was young. I graffitied trains, buildings..." Has time tamed Mr. Monopoly? Not really. "I am still a graffiti addict. I still have this need to quickly graffiti something any time I get the chance. Street painting remains my true passion."
A few months ago, Jean-Claude Biver suggested that Alec became not only the "Art Provocateur" for the watch brand he is CEO of, to imbue it with his creativity – but also to start to express himself in a different way, in the street, by tagging the TAG Heuer boutique located in the very heart of Miami's Design District, as part of the artistic ambiance of the famous Contemporary Art Week.

Jean-Claude Biver commented: "To be the first, to be unique and different, has been my philosophy for the last 40 years. With Alec as Art Provocateur within my team at TAG Heuer, I would like not only to continue to reconnect the brand with the younger generation, the millenials, but also to pave the way for new areas of expression, in all domains from the products to marketing and communication to distribution….His unconventional creativity and enthusiasm are contagious!"

TAG Heuer Partnership with BMC Racing Team

— From January 1st, 2017, Swiss avant-garde watchmaker TAG Heuer will be the pro cycling team’s official timekeeper.

 http://www.watchart.co.uk/

In Doha, on October 8th, on the eve of the UCI Road World Championship 2016, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver announced the brand’s return to the world of international professional cycling. Closing a hiatus of more than 20 years, TAG Heuer is joining forces with BMC Racing Team represented by owner Andy Rihs and Jim Ochowicz, the team’s President and General Manager.
A global partnership
All team members will be sporting the TAG Heuer Connected, which will provide them with information and communications.
The watchmaker’s logo will be visible on all strategic locations. On the jerseys, the watchmaker’s famous shield will appear high up and on the sides of the sleeves. On podiums, during interviews, this same logo will feature on all the cyclists’ caps. Finally, the team’s official vehicles will sport the TAG Heuer and BMC colors side by side.
As a tribute to TAG Heuer’s cycling heritage, road racing legend Dag Otto Lauritzen (age 50, Norwegian pro cyclist from 1984 to 1994, stage winner of the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, bronze medalist at the 1984 Olympics, and member of 7-Eleven Cycling Team which in those days wore the TAG Heuer colors) was present as well.
Also in attendance to mark the occasion, 2015 Australian time trial champion Richie Porte, leader of BMC Racing Team in 2016 (winner of Paris-Nice in 2013 and 2015 as well as Volta a Catalunya in 2015) and the 7 selected riders for the UCI World Championship Team Time Trial, Tom Bohli (SUI), Rohan Dennis (AUS), Stefan Küng (SUI), Daniel Oss (ITA), Manuel Quinziato (ITA), Taylor Phinney (USA), and Joey Rosskopf (USA).

The first pairing of professional cycling with the brand dates back to 1946, when pocket chronometers for measuring time during races and trials are first mentioned in the brochure of Swiss watchmaker HEUER. In 1985, TAG Heuer ventured in earnest into the world of professional cycling as sponsor of the HEUER SKIL SEM team and its leader Sean Kelly. From 1986-1987 to 1990, the brand’s involvement continues with Team KAS TAG HEUER and the American 7-Eleven Cycling Team, founded by none other than Jim Ochowicz – the current President and General Manager of BMC Racing Team whom TAG Heuer is partnering with again today.

15 years of great content TAG Heuer

— A look back at what TAG Heuer was up to in 2003 reveals numerous differences with the brand today, but also some parallels.

On 9th September 2003 WorldTempus published in its entirety a special issue of the Tribune des Arts magazine dedicated to TAG Heuer. Reading this article shows just how much the brand has changed over the past decade, but also highlights one surprising similarity. The article carried an interview with the brand’s CEO Jean-Christophe Babin, who has since moved on to take over as CEO of Bulgari and been replaced by Jean-Claude Biver. Back then, the tag line of the brand’s advertising was the direct and somewhat provocative question “What are you made of?”, whereas today it is a more motivational and social media-inspired “#dontcrackunderpressure”.
One of the biggest differences between then and now is the product range, at least as far as the replica Omega watches highlighted in the Tribune des Arts article are concerned. The Link Calibre 36, the “New” Carrera and the Ladies 2000 in gold are a far cry from this year’s “new” Carrera with in-house calibre (and even with a new tourbillon calibre), the Monza, a competition to choose the design for a re-issue of the legendary Autavia chronograph next year and, of course, the Carrera Connected smart watch. The latter could not even have been a glint in the eye in 2003, since we would have to wait another four years before the very first iPhone in 2007.

The article in our archives was published within a year of TAG Heuer entering the mainland China market. By October 2002 the brand had already opened its first store in Beijing and was poised to capitalize on a growing interest in sport in the run-up to the first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Shanghai (2004) and the Olympic Games in Beijing (2008). The cliché would normally tell us that the rest is history, but in this case history is now coming full circle. After years of explosive growth, China’s economy has started to lose steam and watch exports to the country have plummeted as a result. In the eyes of the current TAG Heuer CEO, Jean-Claude Biver, this is the perfect time to invest in China.

TAG Heuer Video. Aquaracer & Nuit de la Glisse

— Sponsored by TAG Heuer Replica Watches, Thierry Donard’ new film offers us extreme images and poignant accounts.

Thierry Donard has completed another round-the-world journey with his camera, bringing us right into awe-inspiring natural settings where men and women carry out incredible feats. From the most beautiful snowy alpine faces to the peaks towering above the Norwegian fjords, from the waves of Fakarava to proximity-fly above the glaciers to the heart of Swiss Alps...
Skiers, snowboarders, wingsuit pilots, surfers all have one thing in common: the desire to reach the goals they set for themselves, sometimes at the price of waiting months for various weather conditions to converge, and all this in a time when nature is becoming more and more chaotic.

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Team

— TAG Heuer presents its new Red Bull Racing Replica Watches.

December 2015 saw TAG Heuer Fake Watches become the Official Timekeeper & Official Watch of the Formula 1 Red Bull Racing team. The two brands announced the new name of the 2016 car, "Red Bull Racing - TAG Heuer RB12", with TAG Heuer being included in the team's official name. It is the first time a watchmaker has ever been named directly in the official title of an F1 team.
Last weekend, at the most glamorous of all Formula 1 Grand Prix events – Monaco – and to celebrate its first year of partnership with the most unconventional team in Formula 1, TAG Heuer introduced two special series TAG Heuer Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Team watches.
The steel chronograph bears the team's colours, midnight blue and red, an alliance which naturally alludes to the racing mindset. Adorned with a bezel sporting a tachymeter scale in matte blue aluminium, this piece reflects the DNA of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection perfectly.

The watch is available in two versions, one of which has a steel bracelet in keeping with the watch brand's flagship models. This model is also now available with a strap made from technical textile for a sportier look, with red stitching inspired by the seat belts of racing cars. The quartz chronograph movement is accurate to a tenth of a second – an indispensable feature in a motor racing watch – and is displayed on the small counter at 6 o'clock, with the minute counter at 9 o'clock and the current seconds counter at 3 o'clock. The hands are red, matching the team colours and complement the white counters and deep blue case back perfectly. The back of the case is of course engraved with the legendary black and white chequered flag, symbol of Formula 1, as well as the exclusive Red Bull Racing Team logo.

Black watches from Baselworld Black is black

— ... sometimes even blacker than black. Watchmakers are increasingly turning to the dark side to create “total black” models. This is the first part of our mini-series on black watches replica.

As we saw at Baselworld, black watches are in. And we’re not just talking about watches with a black dial and a black strap: no, watches are increasingly sporting ultra-black cases and even black movements, particularly in skeleton watches. So, following on from the automotive industry’s flirtation with black vehicles of every size and shape, watchmaking is going full black, and every style of watch is affected: sports watches, classic watches, haute horlogerie and the avant-garde, as well as women’s watches and jewellery watches.
The cases of these “total black” watches are generally made of stainless steel, titanium or ceramic. While ceramic is relatively easy to colour, this is not the case with steel. Two coating techniques are used to produce a jet-black finish: PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) and DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). The majority of the timepieces presented here make use of these technologies.
Ultranero. The new Octo by Bulgari is defined by its colour. Produced in Finissimo Tourbillon, Solotempo and Velocissimo (chronograph) versions, it comes in a titanium (for the tourbillon) or DLC-treated steel case, and its dark looks are enhanced by a lacquered or polished dial and bezel, with matching alligator or rubber strap. The pink gold hands, indexes and crown – capped with a black ceramic insert – lift and lighten the total black look. Here, black provides a particularly elegant costume, particularly in the tourbillon version, driven by the BVL 268 calibre, the world’s thinnest tourbillon movement.

Raymond Weil also goes for the darkly sophisticated look in its new Freelander Squelette Black, whose black PVD-treated steel case, black crown, dial and leather strap are offset by the gilded indices and hands. The self-winding skeletonised mechanical movement, calibre RW4215, with its ruthenium finish, adds to the mystery of the piece.

Carl F. Bucherer puts a contemporary face on its famous GMT model, with a deep matt DLC-treated steel case and bracelet, driven by manufacture calibre CFB 1901.1, COSC-certified and capable of displaying three time zones simultaneously. The Patravi TravelTec Black provides optimum readability against its dark dial thanks to light-coloured hands, chronograph registers and indexes.

At Baselworld 2016 Chronoswiss unveiled two new models in its classic Sirius collection that are likely to appeal to the Lucerne-based watchmaker’s younger and more daring clients. The Sirius Flying Regulator and the Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour, equipped with automatic manufacture calibres C.122 and C.283 respectively, feature a DLC-treated stainless steel case and galvanised black dial, giving the traditional regulator display and slim round case a very contemporary chic, amplified by a sporty red regulator hand and carmine stitching.

The stunning Epic SF24 by Jacob & Co., with its vertical digital GMT movement, comes this year in a Racing version, available in several colours. The all black model has a DLC-treated grade 5 titanium case which is particularly good match for this powerful-looking timepiece. Dial, hands, indexes and, of course, strap – everything is black, except for the name of the time zone city, in the iconic split-flap display, and the charming jumping hour cam located between 1 and 2 o’clock.

The new Academy Tourbillon Georges Favre-Jacot by Zenith has a 45 mm black ceramic case. The dial-less design features black faceted luminescent hands and indices, which stand out against the splendid movement: the new manually-wound El Primero 4805 with a tourbillon at 6 o’clock and a fusée-and-chain at 10.30 and 1.30. These are the lightest elements of the watch, standing out visually against the anthracite mainplate and bridges. The dark theme continues with a perforated rubber strap with PVD-treated titanium folding clasp.

TAG Heuer has also chosen ceramic for its new Carrera-Heuer-01 model, which is also available in titanium and steel. The caseband, lugs, bezel and pushers on the 45 mm case are made of ceramic, while the black cutout dial and its registers open onto the Heuer 01 manufacture chronograph movement, whose black upper bridge is skeletonised.

Total black is not a new idea for Hublot: this year, it celebrates the tenth anniversary of its “All Black” concept, and it does so with a rather contradictory piece. The case of the Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black, as its name suggests, is made of black smoked sapphire. Every other element of the watch is black: the dial is black translucent composite resin, and the screws, crown, pushers and clasp are manufactured from PVD-treated titanium, as are the components of the HUB 1242 UNICO movement. As a final touch of sophistication, even the luminous coating on the hands and indexes is black! The result is a transparent all-black watch.

In addition to the models presented above, the photo gallery continues our exploration of black with timepieces by Hamilton, Czapek, Romain Gauthier, Seiko, Ulysse Nardin, Armin Strom, Girard-Perregaux and HYT. Click on the big image at the top of the page.

TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01

— Three new TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 models were unveiled at Baselworld, with a brand new feature: a metal bracelet.

Presented for the first time last year at Baselworld, the Carrera Heuer-01 is THE signature Chrono model from TAG Heuer. In 2015, the cheap replica watches formed the cornerstone of a burgeoning new collection, with a new design, a new Heuer-01 in-house calibre based on the 1887 calibre, and a new modular case design with 12 elements enabling multiple combinations of materials and colours.
In 2016, the Heuer-01 was extended to include three new references.

The first new feature: the metal bracelet makes an appearance in the collection. It is made from H-shaped links with the Carrera design that enables the alternating satin-finished and polished finishes. Each individual link is meticulously finished, one by one, before the piece is fully assembled. The piece is topped off with a dual safety mechanism featuring two push-pieces.
Second option: all-titanium. Resistant to corrosion, erosion and fire, titanium is twice as light and twice as resistant as steel. Called the "Carrera Heuer-01 Grey Phantom", this model explores all the shades of grey for a magnificent modern look.

Finally, the third version of the Heuer-01 combines ceramic and rubber. Here, the case, bezel, lugs and case middle (all the parts exposed to friction) are made from black ceramic, to minimise signs of wear while offering an attractive pitch-black design. The piece is topped off with a textured black rubber strap. Technically, to guarantee perfect water resistance to 100 metres, steel is always present on all the functional parts of the watch (inner box section, screw-in case back, push-pieces etc.) to enable the gaskets (crystal gasket, case-back gaskets, push-piece gaskets and crowned tube) to fulfil their function.

TAG Heuer Connected Smartwatch with Intel & Google

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer officially threw its hat into the smartwatch ring today with the launch of the TAG Heuer Connected watch — first announced at this year’s Baselworld — a revolutionary new timepiece developed in cooperation with Intel Corporation and Google and powered by Android Wear technology.
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch was unveiled at a press conference at LVMH Tower (LVMH is the parent company of TAG Heuer), hosted by Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer & President of the LVMH Group’s Watches Division, accompanied by Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel Corporation, and David Singleton, VP of Engineering for Android at Google. Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, was also in attendance, along with an international group of media, including Watches.

 http://www.foreverwatches.me.uk/category/tag-heuer-replica/

TAG Heuer employees offered wrist demos of the watches.
Here are the basics:
The watch — officially dubbed the TAG Heuer Connected Watch with Intel Inside — has a 46-mm-diameter case made from grade 2 titanium, making it lighter and more resistant to impacts than a case made from other traditional watchmaking materials such as steel or gold. It comes on a textured black rubber strap (six other colors – red, blue, white, orange, green and yellow – are available, sold separately) with a deployant buckle also made of grade 2 titanium The watch — which is available for sale at more than 100 TAG Heuer boutiques and 150 carefully selected retailers across the world (including 20 retailers in the United States) as of today, November 9 — is priced at $1,500.

(TAG Heuer’s official product video for the Connected Watch appears below.)
As per Biver’s directive that it “be a connected watch but not look like a connected watch,” TAG Heuer has developed three digital watch dials (or “watch faces”), all of which feature the immediately recognizable design codes of TAG Heuer’s Carrera collection, including the hands, index, counters, date window and minute track. Wearers can choose from a chronograph dial, three-hand dial and GMT dial, all of which display the date and are available in a choice of three colors (black, deep blue or pearl white). Also, unlike smartwatches such as the Apple Watch, the digital hands and indexes remain visible at all times, even when the watch is in ambient energy-saving mode.
The following will be available from the launch date: the chronograph dial, the 3-hand dial and the GMT dial, all of which display the date and are available in a choice of three colors (black, deep blue or pearl white), faithfully reproducing the appearance and functions of a true dial, with shadows under the hands and sunburst effects. TAG Heuer also says that other “watch face” options will be made available in the future, downloadable through the exclusive TAG Heuer app in the Google Play Store.
TAG Heuer worked closely with Intel and Google to create a watch that combined connectivity and computing intelligence with Swiss watchmaking heritage. The watch features an Intel Atom processor Z34XX and runs the Android Wear platform. Intel engineered the intelligence inside the watch to optimize performance and enable a multitude of connectivity options including audio streaming, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as allow users to harness the full range of features offered by the Android Wear operating system.

The TAG Heuer Connected watch — touted by Google’s Singleton as “the world’s smartest luxury watch” — has 4 GB of memory and an all-day battery life thanks to its latest-generation lithium battery. It is equipped with a small microphone to communicate via Google voice control and a sapphire crystal touchscreen complementing the crown at 3 o’clock which houses controls. Another advantage: if you don’t have your smartphone with you, the watch will continue to calculate, display, and exchange data, and as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection it will remain connected to the cloud. Its resident applications (music, timer, alarm, step counter) remain active even when no connection is available.

Thousands of Android applications are already available for the TAG Heuer Connected watch user to download. The key applications, currently used by millions, such as Google Fit, Google Translate, Google Maps and Google Search with your voice are already available on the watch, and show you information at a glance. The watch can also be easily synced with a phone running either on Android 4.3+ or iOS 8.2+. It is charged using a contact charger — simply place the watch on top to recharge it — and carries a two-year warranty, like other TAG Heuer watches.

Finally — and this is where the product’s tagline “connected to eternity” comes in — anyone who purchases a TAG Heuer Connected watch will have the opportunity to exchange it for a mechanical watch with a traditional Swiss-made mechanical movement inside. Which means that at the end of the two-year warranty period, customers can go to a TAG Heuer retailer and exchange the TAG Heuer Connected watch for an exclusively developed mechanical TAG Heuer Carrera watch, similarly designed and also with a grade 2 titanium case. This transaction would cost an additional $1,500.
