The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, one of the world's largest motoring event, was founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa. Inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. It was decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often negative stereotype of men on motorcycles. That first ride brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged the organizers to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause. In 2016 the goal is to take part in over 550+ cities with over 50,000 participants, aiming to raise $5,000,000 USD for prostate cancer research and mental health programs.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride website is the key platform of the organization. It lets classic and vintage styled motorcycle enthusiasts organize or register to a ride, support friends and make donations. Zenith has established the “Zenith watches Team”. Joining the “Zenith watches Team” offers the opportunity to get a set of goodies and win a Pilot Ton-Up DGR special edition which will be offered to the best fundraiser of the team.
